I have seen many tips for family travel that says “bring the dvd’s and player to keep the kids occupied on the plane or in the car.”  But sometimes you need something fresh and new.  Redbox has over 17,000 locations nationwide and DVD rentals are only $1.00.

With Redbox you can rent a DVD for $1 on your way to the airport.  The kids can watch the movie on the plane.  Then you return the DVD at another location after you arrive.  This works great for long car trips as well.  Yes, you can rent a DVD at the library, but then you have to return it when you return or usually it is due before you get back from your vacation.  With Redbox you can return the DVD, then get another one for your stay, then another for the return trip.  As often as you like.

All you need is a credit card.  They charge the card $1 and then when you return the DVD they charge you for the rest of the rental if you keep it longer than a day.  It is $1 a day.  You can’t beat the price and convenience.  Give it a try.  http://www.redbox.com.  Of course I would make sure there is a Redbox at your destination before taking a DVD on a long trip.
