Many of you probably think that most of the haunted hotels and castles reside in Europe. I am not sure if that is true or not, but what I do know is America has their share of ghosts living amongst us. Since this is the first day of October, what a better time to check out the most haunted hotels in the United States.  Even some with the ghosts of celebrities.

A good place to start is the National Trust for Historic Preservations website at http://www.historichotels.org 

That is where I found a link to the self proclaimed most haunted hotel in America, the Crescent Hotel and Spa in Arkansas.  They even provide ghost tours and on a website specifically to promote the ghosts, they have pictures of ghosts taken by guests who have been haunted by those who slept there before them.

Still other hotels are not listed here, but claim to be haunted.  One is the Stanley Hotel in Colorado.  This hotel’s claim to fame is it being the inspiration for Stephen King’s, “The Shining”.  each October they even have “The Shining Ball”.  The Mini-Series was also filmed here.
